7 Signs of a Mystic

A mystic is a person who seeks a direct personal experience of God or a higher power rather than relying only on beliefs, rituals or intellectual ideas.

Mystics are either known to this world or are hidden, unknown in any corner. A mystic can be regarded as being somewhere between a philosopher and a saint.

Below Are the 7 Signs of a Mystic

1. Who Has Experienced a Spiritual Awakening Or/and a Kundalini Awakening

A mystic experiences a spiritual awakening or/and a Kundalini awakening. The experience is very difficult. It’s like old beliefs leave him, and the direct experience of the higher power of the universe (or God) starts.

He starts getting True knowledge effortlessly through intuition by talking to the higher power inside him.

He begins to question religion and religious beliefs. If he was religious before his awakening, he stops believing in religion after the awakening.

2. Who Loves Solitude

A mystic always loves being in solitude. Solitude keeps him in touch with the higher power. Solitude gives him pleasure and solace from the overwhelm of the material world.

It doesn’t mean that he never socialises. He socialises sometimes but returns to solitude, just like a child to his mother!

3. Who lives a life of Contentment

A mystic always lives a life of Contentment. He feels happy and satisfied with what he has.

He feels that the higher power has given him more than what he needs. He lives a life of simplicity and modesty.

4. Who Has Little Interest in the Material World

After his awakening, the mystic always loses interest in or has less interest in the material world.

He becomes detached from the power of money, fame, material success, social status and possessions.

It doesn’t mean that every mystic lives the life of a renunciate. It only means that he lives like a lotus, present in the water (the material world) but untouched by it. In the East, this state is called Vairagya!

5. Who Often Feels That He Doesn’t “Fit In” in This World

Since childhood, a mystic has felt like an alien on this planet. He always feels like he doesn’t belong in this world.

Mystics are highly sensitive souls. They often have a traumatic childhood. Many of them are the black sheep of the family.

6. Who Is a Pure-Hearted Soul

A mystic is a pure-hearted soul. He is guileless, selfless, kind, compassionate, humble and tolerant.

In his childhood, he always felt that everyone had a pure heart just like him (which is not true). In this way, being trustworthy, he trusted everyone and got tricked and fooled.

7. Who Is Sent by the Higher Power to Raise the Consciousness of This World

After his awakening, the mystic realises his purpose. He realises that he is sent by the higher power to raise the consciousness of this world.

He deeply feels that he is only the medium of God and is a non-doer. It is because the higher power is the real doer.

He always feels that his purpose is selfless service. A service which is free from self-interest. And this type of service is to make the world a better place.
